Humanity can survive without AI. Human civilisation is unlikely to survive in +2°C world though.

A very strong statement given we're on track to cross 2°C in the 2040's. Not arguing against your point re AI or dangers of climate change in general, but given you're effectively saying we're entering (if, but) a state of civilizational collapse in 14-25 years, you'd maybe elaborate a bit more?

Thank you for stating this opinion. Rahmstorf thinks of a similar timeline when he used to say, ppl under 70 shd be climate activists if they want a peaceful last leg. fwiw, me too. Loss of civilisation and 90% of ppl is infuriating bc WW2-rationing plus command economy until CO2zero wd be simple.

Also there is no Ai and current technology absolutely fundamentally cannot produce Ai. The algorithms we do have can do some useful things (if you don't care that you're burning the biosphere end thus accelerating the end of civilization) but only a tiny fraction of what people are pretending.
