Better late than never I suppose. @thebrokenspine.co.uk @alanparrywriter.co.uk #poemsabout #bites #poetry #3amwritersclub #poem

You took my time between your teeth

gnashed throughly, gaping maw
devouring all of me whole
extracting my spine

before it could choke you
before it could reason with you
before it could excuse itself

for taking up space in my body

the body you own outright
the body in blind shuttered pain
the body vomiting excuses

to you, who never stopped to listen.

#PoemsAbout #Bites starts Friday. Love bites. Winter bites. Words bite. Animals bite. Hunger makes its own rules. Show us the teeth — or just the mark they left. Draft now. Share from Friday. Tag #PoemsAbout. Use Alt Text.

Oh yeah, that’s raw. I always say, a good poem is never late…
