NEWSFLASH for anyone submitting NIH grant applications: applications are being withdrawn from review if they contain foreign subawards, regardless of justification. This was NOT included in NOT-OD-25-104 that was published on May 1. This policy applies PROSPECTIVELY as of May 1. 🧐🧐 1/2

This has not been shared with applicants. Clearly, there is no respect for the applicants any longer. Previously, this would have been shared well in advance. Do they even understand the difference between prospective vs retroactive? Reminder of the original notice: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...

Is a “foreign sub award” research that takes place overseas, or would it need to involve foreign researchers? Also wondering if going forward, they will try to use this with NSF grants.
