The replica boat was built in 2012 by a crew lead by ancient timber specialist Richard Darrah. They embarked on creating a seaworthy reconstruction using experimental archaeology and a feat of reverse-engineering from examinations of the timber and structure of the Bronze Age Boat in Dover Museum.
