My book Fascist Yoga is #1 Best Seller in Amazon's Religious History of Hinduism chart, which is nice but odd because the book covers the politics of modern postural practice - & I show this to be culturally Christian western gymnastics sprinkled with some Orientalist fairy dust.

That chart position sounds serendipitous. Fascism, in its Nazi variation, was a substitute for traditional religion(s) and used semi-religious iconography to project itself.

The book cites Michael Ledeen portraying the occupation of Rijecka as inventing the rituals of fascism in 1919/20 including: "the use of religious symbols in a new secular setting, the eulogies to the martyrs of the cause & the employment of their relics in political ceremonies."
