Andy McKay @korimakoecology.bsky.social · 06/02/2026Last site. This was a wetland. I saw cattle in here in water up to their knees in 2017. In 2018 it was drained, sprayed and drilled with pasture grasses. In 2019 farming was retired. In 2020 the company I worked for was hired to plant it in natives. We did it twice as pukeko nailed the first bunch. 130

Between December 2018 and July 2021 (2.5 years) the native rushes came back all by themselves. These rushes are useful wetland indicators. 040
