It's pretty damn impressive how much ground Mayor Mamdani has been able to cover after only nine months in office on a wide range of basic quality-of-life issues in NYC. I was reading through the numbers this morning, and they're kinda astonishing. (thread)

He has a 125 billion budget and he did this with the help of the legislature and Hochul. Couldn’t have gotten any of this done under Cuomo! Share credit where it’s due

Non-NYers don't understand that (1) our Mayor has much more power than Mayors generally (2) Mamdani took a huge risk by counting on Hochul, one that only half paid off. He got her to invest in Pre-K, but not free buses, and not raising taxes on the 1%.
