Pavel @spavel.bsky.social · 09/05/2025The UX design role is going to have to bifurcate if it's going to grow up. Designers who want to be more strategic will be defining the info arch & content. Designers who want to work in delivery will focus on the HTML/CSS. Figma Sites is entirely backwards facing; it serves neither function. 2251
Pavel @spavel.bsky.social · 09/05/2025In fact, the slice of the experience Figma chose to focus on spurns both areas of focus. The code generated is completely trash *and* lacks any kind of support for semantic inputs. The only thing it's good at is for layout makers to make layouts that stakeholders can "approve" or "validate." 3180
Keith Avery @slabgorb.com · 09/05/2025Oh good so we get a high fidelity demo which you can’t actually use at all Should be no problem with that product management wise 120
Keith Avery @slabgorb.com · 09/05/2025As a fellow web guy that code is shit like ridiculous shit Like what is the stupidest way to do this in 2025. I would prefer tr’s and td’s all day 020
Pavel @spavel.bsky.social · 09/05/2025This, I think, is the worst part of the experience for me. This is Figma's vote for what "the future of design" looks like, and the thing they are voting for is the state of the art in 2008. 3341
