Hold on, doesn’t this list exclude the wide variety of pastries made from wheat flour and butter filled with fruits and nuts. Each is radically different and unique to a nation or even city.

Practically you wrote the same things for every nation. But when it comes to Italian cuisine, there's a vast and unique world of flavors that can't be generalized. Think of carbonara, arancini, tiramisù, caponata, spaghetti alle vongole, focaccia, cannoli and many others.
