Just realised I haven't spammed you with moths this week, really. Therefore... 🧵 1. Everyone's favourite broken twig mimic dropped by today (buff tip moth)

An innocuous piece of broken twig, oh no my mistake it's an absofuckinglutely glorious buff tip moth. This delightful fluffy moth pal looks like a short length of broken twig with silvery bark and yellowish wood. It's a very cylindrical moth. And twiggy. A+ camo moth friend, definitely would fool me if I was a bird looking for a moth snack.

Front view of the utterfuckingly adorable buff tip moth to show how much its fluffy little face combined with its hairdo and colour look like the flat end of a broken twig. Amazing.

Top down view of the buff tip moth to further illustrate it's magnificent twiggy-ness.

In this pic I'm holding a small length of twig next to this very obliging buff tip moth to show how similar the moths appearance is to a twig. It's very similar. 11 out of 10 camo, no notes.

2. There's been a few common marbled carpets around lately. So pretty. Definitely one to wave at people who think little brown moths are boring (because how dare u)

A very beautiful common marbled carpet moth looking like a magnificently patterned tiny triangular persian rug. Its wings are covered in wavy patterns in many different shades of brown. It has very round eyes and thin little legs Perfect moth pal, delightful.

3. Furious grass veneer!! This livid little moth pal isn't the first grass veneer I've seen this year, but it is the first garden grass veneer. The most common species of rage-filled veneer in my garden, I have a tattoo of this species in my collection!

A tiny and furious looking wedge shaped micro moth, with lightly striped wings and an absolutely livid expression on its teeny mush. It's sitting on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap.
