KORNdoggychub @korndoggychub.bsky.social · 22/07/2026The tinfoil hat side of me thinks the RAM induced price hikes we're seeing for devices are just to create a new inflated pricing norm for companies to exploit. Does anyone really think the likes of Apple/Valve/Sony/MS etc are going to revert back to launch pricing if the ram situations normalises? 1120
Hungry Luppy @luppy.monster · 22/07/2026They won’t revert to previous pricing, but when the AI bubble bursts, they will need to drop prices. Otherwise, they’ll be stuck with unsold inventories. 120
KORNdoggychub @korndoggychub.bsky.social · 22/07/2026I have a feeling they don't care so much about that. A lot of people will continue to buy at the inflated price...which could be enough to compensate for the lower total number of sales. Sony for instance need to sell 33% fewer consoles at the new inflated price to make the same amount of $ 110
