Let us know when you all figure this out with some "best practices". Perhaps someone can train/program an AI agent for accessibility modifications to pdf's, Latex documents, hand drawn figures, etc., that will be acceptable for meeting the requirements.

Digital accessibility should be about actually providing useful features, not just meeting requirements. Most of these things (such as image descriptions) require authorial intent. Offloading this to an AI is irresponsible.

If the goal is just meeting the requirements, there are simpler ways to make that happen (run a script that adds "image" as alt text to every diagram for example lol). 😅

Well yes "offloading" is irresponsible, but having an AI agent make an intelligent pass at it, with human oversight, should be possible and save time. This seems somewhat the standard for transcripts, often without the oversight part. A long way to go, all around.
