I see it as having experience in an ISP, datacenter, and enterprise environments. After having a taste of everything, I'm more comfortable in the ISP and datacenter world, where I don't have to manage and troubleshoot firewalls or VPN tunnels. I like my BGP, EVPN, MPLS, and segment routing.

I think that’s going to be the problem with the terminology - everyone will see it differently because there’s so many aspects of networking. Route/switch, cloud, automation, data center, WAN, etc

I see it as all of the above because I started my career at age 20 in 2015 (sorry I'm young), with sysadmin experience that later morphed into network engineering in the datacenter and enterprise, then automating the maintenance and provisioning of customer services.
