1500 dead every year in the UK from driving. I'm absolutely not absolving anyone of anything, and have endless sympathy for pedestrian victims of bike crashes. We can and should work on reducing both driving and cycling injuries. But one of them is a bigger problem than the other.

Right. But *I* got hit by a bike. I should be able to talk about that without a flood of "why aren't you complaining about cars" messaging, with a side order of "bikes should be able to ignore red lights anyway". Cancer is a bigger issue than road deaths. Why aren't you talking about that?
