Stefan Shepherd @stefanshepherd.bsky.social · 05/02/2024My lukewarm take (pun unintended) on the Tracy Chapman / Luke Combs "Fast Car" duet last night: it was a little bit less than the sum of its parts. I mean, there are few perfect songs, but "Fast Car"? Perfect song. 211
Stefan Shepherd @stefanshepherd.bsky.social · 05/02/2024I *loved* Tracy's smile at the roar from the crowd, I loved Combs' obvious delight singing along (even silently, away from the mic), I loved the shots of stars singing along. Chapman deserves all the accolades she's (once again) earning. 100
Liz Tamny @etamny.bsky.social · 05/02/2024a-gree. I like his version OK I love her version, nothing was added making it a duet--rather the opposite. seemed to be about managing turf more than anything musical 110
