7/25 Telling a crew to abandon ship is not the same as establishing that everyone is safe. Are they accounted for? Have they been recovered? Are there injured people? What are the sea conditions? Who is taking them ashore? A lifeboat is not the end of the rescue - #SearchAndRescue

8/25 For the Master, a passage plan now needs more than a route, weather forecast and a military contact number. The company must explain the ship's exposure, the cargo interests, available cover and what support exists if the vessel is challenged or attacked.

9/25 For the company, that means examining the owner, manager, charterer, cargo seller, buyer and banks. A lawful transaction can still be commercially unacceptable if the ship may be misidentified, threatened or caught in retaliation directed at somebody else.
