4) The biggest problem I see is with claims that the 2-day CPET protocol is an objective test for PEM (some even call it the ‘gold standard’, see screenshot below). There simply haven’t been any studies that tested how these two are related.

5) The big overlap in 2-day CPET results between ME/CFS patients and controls makes it unlikely that this test accurately measures PEM. Because it would mean that either a lot of ME/CFS don’t have PEM or that a lot of healthy controls have it as well.
