1) The results of Benjamin Natelsons two-day exercise study have been published. This work was supported by an NIH grant. They tested 58 ME/CFS patients and 25 matched controls but did not find any differences. There was no decline in exercise measures on the second test.

2) Natelson's group at the he Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai has been doing exercise studies in ME/CFS since the early 1990s. They received more than $2 million from an NIH grant (5R01 NS117638) to study the 2-day cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPETs) protocol in ME/CFS.

3) Unfortunately, the study did not reach it target enrolment of 80 ME/CFS patients. Patients were included based on the Fukuda criteria but modified so that post-exertional malaise (PEM) was a mandatory symptom. Patients had to report a PEM score on of at least 3 a VAS .
