I checked Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark out of my grade-school library dozens of times and always folded the page over so I wouldn't get scared of this one image. Still kinda gets to me, to be honest. #Horrorsky

For me, it was the illustration for The Black Dog. I don't know why now since it's pretty basic, but there was just something that tickled my kid brain just right for this to be super unsettling
