I ran my first marathon while doing my PhD. Running was (is) my mindfulness and mental preparation for reaching the finish line. The comments here might just give me enough of a stress response to train for the next one. Great article!

For experimentalists, it's a marathon doing the background research to understand the material, design the experiments, build the test system, and get the test system working. Then it's a sprint to get the data you need before the test system stops working.
