Avi Lewis @avilewis.ca · 26/08/2026When you’re in a war, you use your strongest weapons. And our power in this trade war comes from resources we have that the US needs — like oil, gas, potash, and other critical minerals. 1826474

mythsout.bsky.social @mythsout.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Tariffs on US goods coming into Canada drive up inflation in Canada. Export taxes drive up i elation for Americans. A digital services tax bites into the profits of the tech oligarchs. 141
The Policy Vivisectionist @policy-dissection.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Canada MUST place an export tax on ALL resources vital to the US economy, oil, gas, nickel, aluminum, zinc, potash, softwood lumber, structural timber, pulses, wheat, canola, helium, argon, hogs, and cattle. I'm sure I missed something, help me out people. 000
Matt @markhammechanic61.bsky.social · 27/08/2026trump and the Heritage Foundation don’t want a deal, they are further isolating themselves to slip in to authoritarianism, and after trumps gone slip into a Theocratic Rule without anyone interfering. Their experiment is over. 010
Eric Mitchell 2 🇨🇦 @canavart2.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Yeah, but you don't fire them all off on day one. Escalation ladders are tricky and dangerous and must be managed cleverly. In this case, we have to make sure US public opinion keeps focusing its ire at their own government and doesn't turn it on us. 220

Renée @reneesbox.substack.com · 27/08/2026Whatever we do I would prefer we target Trump-aligned billionaires, businesses, and investors and not the 99% of Americans who are also already under siege by those same people. Good luck getting Carney & Champagne to turn on their Bilderberg friends, though. 😇 200

Jeff Schering @yakkadoo.com · 27/08/2026Good to keep in mind too that refineries in US midwest have one source and one source only: Alberta heavy crude. Not only that, they can process only Alberta crude. They can't handle lighter grades without extensive renovations plus new pipelines from either Texas or the coast. 151
Old Gen-X Man @tridentyyz.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Yes, a poll would find that a "Trump Surcharge Tariff" of 10% to 25% on natural resources would generate enough money to cover the costs of the damage that he is doing to our country. It would most likely remove all of the tariffs he's levied against us within a week. 010
