This story should be leading the news in a historic election like this. Lab services - an essential part of our healthcare system - long ago outsourced to for-profit private companies. thetyee.ca/News/2025/04... #vanpoli #cdnpoli #vancouver #vancouvercentre

I must say it is refreshing to see a candidate criticize neoliberal policy like this. Proud to have your sign in my window.

My daughter worked for LifeLabs who are a terrible employers who during COVID 19 could give a damm about worker/ patient health and safety.

Why do the province and feds outsource everything? It is maddening. Healthcare is a public good just take responsibility and run labs yourselves! Same with all the weird quasi-company things like ICBC.

LifeLabs union members work under horrible conditions: the company pads its profits by short-staffing. This leads to stressful experiences for both staff and patients. And Lifelabs staff get $4/hr less than hospital staff for exactly the same job! This should be met with shock, not a shrug.

It should be Canadian and it should be nationalized, and public, not private nor for profit. Especially now that the States is a threat to our nation lowk! 👀

It shocked me to learn Lifelabs, which I use for labs and all my bloodwork, is an American company. Colour me surprised to learn family in Dawson Creek have another specimen collection institution to go to - something I had never heard of, because Lifelabs is our main option - hospitals (1)
