also, i remind you once again: women are ALSO demeaned and ridiculed as "weak" for showing emotion. the ACTUAL difference is not that men receive this treatment "more" than women, it's that just taken as a given that this is appropriate treatment for them bc they ARE weak and ridiculous by nature

whenever people talk about how men are "punished" for showing "emotion," the unstated part is that the punishment for men is "being treated like a woman, the way women are ALWAYS treated by default." this is not in fact a uniquely male experience, it's just that you only care when it's not "correct"
