So yeah, last night, at like 12:40something, the city sent an emergency alert about a runaway teen (I don't object to this part) WHICH BYPASSED THE VOLUME SETTINGS (this is where we have beef) and must have woken up half the county.

The thing about sending full volume emergency alerts at 1am is that then people turn alerts off okay goodnight

Like, aside from waking me up thinking I was going to die (this was almost like the fire alarm all over again, though at least I was sober this time), THIS MAKES PEOPLE DISABLE ALERTS. WHICH IS BAD IN EMERGENCIES WHERE THEY NEED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION.

I checked my settings and I have them set not to bypass my volume controls unless it's "the most critical alerts," so this is not on me. But see, now I've turned off two of the lower level alerts because clearly the authorities around me can't be trusted. How is that good for anyone.
