This thread uses the word "cult" to try to have a moral panic, while effectively under emphasizing the real problems of "rationalists" and "effective altruists".
If one says "cult" and at no point even alleges coercion or abuse, they're just attacking folks for weird lifestyles or disagreement. 🧵
