"Get Ready with Me" - Speaking of things that perhaps shouldn't have worked for me as well as they did... I liked this a lot: Dakota was great as this vacant-eyed, disturbed influencer type, and this is the kind of sketch - which #SNL has often done very well - that could have her say... "Get Ready with Me" (cont.) - ...pretty much any demented thing and it would land; it did all land in this, all her "tips" were very funny. What I struggled with, for much but not ALL of this, was JAJ's character, who kept popping in in an example of something #SNL often does 𝑛𝑜𝑡 do very well... "Get Ready with Me" (cont.) - ...which is to give almost every character in a scene a 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔, so that the funny is 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒, which - more often than not - renders a sketch diffuse/unfocused for the worse. #SNL
