My girlfriend is about to watch what we're pretty sure is only her second full episode of #SNL - her first LIVE - and I feel...too responsible and nervous for the show to come. But I've warned her that neither season premieres nor episodes hosted by sports folk tend to be GOOD, so...we'll see!

I currently have 2 potential Movies Fantasy League rosters: one that's more skewed toward box office points, one more skewed toward awards points. The former got me to 8 movies & 100 "dollars" more easily, but...I'm WAY better at predicting how things will fare with award than at the box office.

People who make "top ____ TV shows of the last ______ years" lists have FAR more of a propensity to put dramas on their lists than comedies - and some of these people are DEFINITELY among the voices decrying the TV Academy for classifying shows that are basically dramas as comedies.

For me, a key aspect of writing - ANY writing - is constantly looking up definitions to make SURE I'm using a given word correctly. I'm good with words, so that's not about ignorance, but it IS about Insecurity - and I know insecurity better than I know anything else.

I've never been preparing for a career in broadcasting, but NEWSRADIO taught me that the greatest lesson for one is: Enunciate VERY carefully when you say "Buttafuoco." You may think that one hasn't been relevant in quite a long time, but...there's a real pro tip in there.

It feels right that Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks each received their lone #Emmy nominations for projects outside of #SNL - for Hooks, her only Emmy nomination AT ALL - in the same year, 1998 (his a posthumous nomination for NEWSRADIO and hers a nomination for guesting on 3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN).
