I rarely cite the sources of my thoughts, for a few reasons
1.) I am not writing an essay
2.) I want people to think about what I'm saying rather than accept it as "probably reasonable, but I'm not going to do the reading to find out"
3.) "the angels told me" apparently isn't an acceptable citation
