I grew up in NJ, right outside of Manhattan. "30 min door-to-door to Yankee Stadium," I would tell people. I'm the youngest of 3 and so I was in 4th grade on 9/11. My oldest sister, however, studied at NYU and her dorm was on Water Street. I don't have many memories from 4th grade, but

I can remember almost every part of that day. The elementary school I went to, despite being in the Northeast, was a "California style school," i.e. all the buildings were disconnected. The 4th graders were in one of those "temporary" trailers from the 80s, on the edge of campus.
