So ... Those people should never have gotten those houses they couldn't afford? What does this have to do with Obama? Oh right you want to blame a black man for what rich white bankers did. He should have ... what... Paid off everyone's mortgage and let the banks fail? Do you think things thru?

Banks proffered predatory loans. In the years since the 2008 collapse they've been sued multiple times for these practices, and lost significantly because of their obviously crooked practices. Instead of economic justice for the victims of this predation, he made the perpetrators whole.

this disproportionately affected Black families because they were often targeted specifically by these banks, having structurally less recourse to seek damages. By some estimates a full tenth of generational Black wealth was destroyed by making the banks whole instead of their victims.
