I struggle to impart this upon my friends. Because of gerrymandering and internet. Republicans are just going to get worse. Trump is a symptom. Ask Texans who thought GW Bush was going to be as bad as it gets.
I regularly think about this Alex Pareene piece saying how Charlottesville offered a preview of the GOP. The younger generation of Republican voters are not just anti-Israel, they are blatantly antisemitic and racist in ways their predecessors weren't.
