I wonder, does art *have* to be black and white? Only ever an obviously good person doing obviously good things? Who is obviously rewarded for said goodness in obviously good ways? Who is even proclaimed by the art itself to be obviously good for their obvious goodness?

If evil is depicted, then it must be obviously evil and shown to do obviously evil things? And immediately declared to be obviously evil by the art itself? And obviously and instantly punished for their obviously evil actions?

What do we make of artists who make art that depicts a greater variety, complexity, and nuance? Is the artist only ever, and obviously, pro- whatever is shown in their art? Is depiction = endorsement? What if we dont like the art? What if we dont like the feelings the art gives us? Is it evil art?
