Thought this might be instructive. Hindwing comparison of Langmaid's Yellow Underwing trapped Friday night with Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing earlier tonight (L and R respectively). Surprisingly, Langmaid's new for Devon. Axminster VC3. #TeamMoth

Thanks Gavin. Very instructive. Most of the time, all you get is a moth battering itself, trying to break free from the pot, and seeing the underwing is difficult. I think you'd be able to narrow it down after seeing your pics. The amount of yellow is tiny although I know it's variable. Nice one 😁

Are you checking many of the 'LBBYUs'? I decided to take a look at the hindwing in the hand of every one that came out of the North Hampshire garden trap this morning that was co-operative. It seems 2/3rds were Langmaid's (Numbers: Langmaid's YU 6 + Lesser BBYU 3 + excused themselves 8)
