I made my first luffa dish pad! I grew the luffas, processed the gourd, cut the inner fibers, and stitched the whole thing together with a cotton yarn. It's entirely compostable. It took a lot of work, but I'm very happy with the results!

A big green luffa squash with some brown spots. I'm supposed to harvest the squash when it's brown and brittle, but I realized that the brown spots are rotting, not drying. So I had to harvest prematurely. Peeling off the green skin was a chore, but I was able to salvage all the inner fibers.
