escaflowne is prestige tv. phenomenal. when you open yourself to it, it receives you with gifts unavailable anywhere else. just fabulous idk. ghost in the shell is a michael mann film, the mood and contemplation of MANHUNTER with the veneer of HEAT. escaflowne... anka compared it to citizen kane lol

does "cinematic" mean anything? i don't mean "central composition cel-shaded in 16:9", i mean like... "360° camera, control of light, visual/environmental storytelling and character acting, in the spirit/language of film theory." character acting in particular— specificity/intentionality rewards.
