I guess Eisenhower made this point a long time ago. But it’s crazy how military spending isn’t about funding the military (upgrading equipment, making sure people meet flight hour standards). It’s about industry R&D. Trillions to make one plane. Dollars and cents to retire 50 year old helicopters.
