The manifesto's central view was that the world is in a climate crisis and burning fossil fuels is making it worse. It urged a complete transition away from fossil fuels and an adoption of renewable power sources. I’m sorry Alberta but that’s completely true. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

I remember being surprised at how about half of popular Leap Manifesto proposals were adopted by the Lib Party in 2015, to a greater or lesser extent, while these same proposals were vilified right across the media as scary and radical. 10 years later Avi Lewis is still being criticized for them:

Leap Manifesto:
*A shift to a "100% clean energy economy" by 2050.
*An end to gov subsidies to the fossil fuel industry
*Support for community-owned clean energy projects
*A universal program for retrofitting, prioritizing low income communities
*Re-training for workers in carbon-intensive industries
*Localization of agriculture infrastructure
*A moratorium on international trade deals that infringe upon democratic rights
*A debate on universal basic income
*An end to corporate funding of political campaigns and examination of voting reform.
