Another side chapel at the Church of St. Roch’s in Lisbon, Portugal. One side of a gold arch with Baroque scrollwork in three vertical sections is seen. To the right, the wall has several openings for silver reliquary busts displayed in a circle over a polychrome marble portion of the wall. The main statue is on the arch of St. Veronica, wearing a green gown with red and gold draped fabric over it. She’s holding the mandylion, a gold cloth with Christ’s face. surrounding her are 8 more babies like the ones in the previous picture. Another 3 babies are on the wall of relics.

Yet another side chapel in St. Roch’s church in Lisbon, Portugal. This one is a niche set behind a gold Baroque archway with more scrollwork and delicate trim. Two gold columns on either side are supported by statutes of angels—white men with shoulder-length brown wavy hair. Both have gold wings. The one on the right is wearing a red and gold robe, the left one is wearing a blue and gold robe. Each has a gold candlestick with a white candle in front of it. The inside of the niche is silvery gold engraved with more scrollwork, divided into 6 panels. In front is a statue of the Virgin Mary wearing a gold dress with a copper belt, and fabric draped over her arm and around her dress. The fabric is blue and gold on the outside, pink and gold on the inside. She has long brown hair in a braid and is wearing a somewhat tarnished gold crown. She looks up with one hand over her heart and the other turned palm up. Surrounding her are more goddamn babies like the ones before. 12 whole ones coming out of the side walls and under her feet and another 27 heads all around her.

BABIES.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. Still at St. Roch’s in Lisbon. This is a side chapel with a polychrome altar at the bottom. On the altar are 6 gold candle sticks with white, burnt down candles. Guess what, they’re Baroque and have really elaborate square curly bases. In the center is a painting of Our Lady of Sorrows, Mary wearing a blue robe with white fabric around her head, pressing her palms together and crying. Guess what color the arched frame is? Gold. Two angels surround it, see previous description. Three gold arches form a niche in the wall. The outside ones are spirals with carvings of grapes and leaves, the next are square, the inside ones are like the outside spirals but smaller with forced perspective. GOLD. There’s a gold coat of arms in the center above. Inside the niche is a big crucifix with Jesus with brown hair dead on the crucifix with bloody knees. His body is kind of turning green. He has a silvery gold metal halo and gold spikes radiating out from the cross. Below him is Mary holding his body in her arms. She looks the same. He is deader. LET’S TALK BABIES. 12 whole ones with 2 heads on the right, 8 with 2 heads on the left. 6 babies, 2 with gold wings, are holding up the arch. Surrounding the whole crucifix in a circle are 6 whole babies AND NO LESS THAN 27 BABIE HEADS. WHAT IS HAPPENING I FEEL LIKE IM ON GLUE.
