Frankie Rickford @frickfo.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Please stop the negative generalising about old people George. Gerontophobia is off the scale on Bluesky - we're either stingy bastards or helpless old dears when we're arrested on climate protests. 340 4
George Monbiot @georgemonbiot.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Well of course this isn't all older people, otherwise I'd have to include myself, among many others. But the data is undeniable: britpolls.co.uk/polls/by-age/britpolls.co.ukUK Polling by Age Group - Generational Divide September 2026How different age groups vote in the UK: 18-24s back the Greens at 28%, while over-65s support Reform UK at 35%. NanaJan @50swoman.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I'm old. Former Labour voter, now Green & have never, ever been asked to participate in a poll. How many people actually participate & respond to these polls? 110 1
Paul M 🇮🇪🇨🇦🇫🇷🚲🍉 @onebiskuit.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I couldn’t point you at it now, but I recall an opinion survey from a few years ago which had data for age cohorts over time. What it showed was, largely, a “wave” effect - if eg Tory vote crested at a certain age-decade in a given date-decade, that crest moved up an age-decade with each date decade 000 0
The Failed Anarchist Revival @failedanarchist.bsky.social · 27/09/2026it's depressing... luckily, I live in a town where there are many like me, in the 65+ age group, who are solidly left-wing. the Tories don't have much support, but there are definitely the gammonati Reform supporters. for some reason they don't seem capable of fact-based political discourse 010 1
