George Monbiot @georgemonbiot.bsky.social · 18/06/2026A fundamental principle is that we *never* cede ground to the far right. If they steal our terms and concepts - which they do all the time - we seize them back and explain the reality behind them. In fact we can leverage their misuse of our terms, to refocus attention on what they really mean. 534253
George Monbiot @georgemonbiot.bsky.social · 18/06/2026And in this case the reality could not be starker: Black and Brown people, women, LGBTQ people and leftwing protesters continue to suffer discrimination by the police and justice system. The last people who will ever find themselves on the wrong side of two-tier justice are rightwing white men. 534270

Paula @speccypaula.bsky.social · 18/06/2026It was a tweet such as this that got me hounded on x. Not so well put, I might add. A response to a QT comment that if you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear from the police. My comment: says the middle class white man. Waking up to 500 insults later, I closed my account. 130
Clive @theartofclive.bsky.social · 18/06/2026Just look at the Lammy report. People of colour are more likely to be arrested, more likely to be charged. Judges and Magistrates are more likely to find people of colour guilty and give longer sentences. It's just a shame that David Lammy forgot all this with his current attacks on juries. 062
