SiameseCaroline @siamesecaroline.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Morning all! A good day was had yesterday cooking down tomatoes for sauce, although it takes ages to skin them all. A very busy day all round, so I’m doing as little as possible today! 8250
odbof85 @odbof85.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Mine all got blight this year, so nada. But normally I cook them up with herbs, garlic and seasoning, then put them through the mouli to make sauce and freeze. Don’t bother with skinning. 150
NormandieCJ @normandiecj.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Good work! 🍅 I usually cook batches of tomatoes for sauces etc through the summer and freeze as I go along... but this summer, the crop has been so small (both in quantity and size of fruit) we've pretty much eaten them as we've picked them. 3120
Lady Weathergirl @ladyweathergirl.bsky.social · 31/08/2026How fab! And delicious. Beautiful tomatoes. 020
Hilary @hilarym.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Good sauce-ing Skinning tomatoes is a very tedious pursuit but there you go. A first world problem I suppose 130
willofibres.bsky.social @willofibres.bsky.social · 31/08/2026A friend freezes her toms whole, when she wants them she puts them straight into hot water and the skins come off easily. I roast mine with onions and garlic and then put them through a mulie (think thats how you spell it) which gets rid if the skins etc and makes a passata 360
