Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan @london.gov.uk · 23/01/2026More reasons London is the world’s #1 city this week: We've kept our position as the world’s leading financial centre. We've been named the most powerful city in the world. Ignore the critics - London still beats them all. 1329136

Flying Squid is always very serious. Probably. @flyingsquid.bsky.social · 23/01/2026I love London and this does not change my view, but this is not how we should be praising cities. The fact that a huge number of corporate banks and corporate headquarters are in London should not be praiseworthy since those entities tend not to be praiseworthy. I'm not glad Shell's HQ is in London. 140
magnetron21 @markwolves.bsky.social · 23/01/2026Absolutely love London! I already have a stay in Battersea booked up for July....Battersea has a great MP too. London has everything I could wish for in a city, and much much more. 030

Ashleigh Loeb (She/Her) @ashleighloeb.bsky.social · 23/01/2026London is indeed a fantastic city, but please can we use some of the gains from all the financial industry to fix the gaping potholes on our roads and make them safer. Those of us who enjoy the exercise that a London bike commute brings, but don’t enjoy the bumpy, dangerous ride would appreciate it. 010
Mr Blogberry @mr-blogberry.bsky.social · 23/01/2026I'm not entirely sure either of these are the right metric. How about trying to make it the most financially equal city in the world? Concentrate on getting some of that power and wealth trickling down to the majority of your residents 110
