DAPPER DON DHARSHI @dapperdondharshi.bsky.social · 18/04/2026A common loon got trapped in a fishing line, one of the many unseen dangers wildlife face every day. Unable to free itself, it cried out for help until rescuers arrived, carefully removing the line and releasing it back into the water. 1002677524 0

Noticing a lack of justice @noticernoticing.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Funny that, I selfishly think of loons as a Minnesota creature ( I know they are elsewhere too ) though immediately it was clear, that there ain't no Minnesotan accent. Nice guy there. 0150 0

K Moore @kriswynd.bsky.social · 19/04/2026I saved a hawk that had the same problem. I saw it splashing in a creek and thought aww it’s bathing. Then it sunk in that something was wrong. I managed to set it free. Only a small scratch for me and freedom for the little male Sharp Shin. I wish people were more careful with fishing equipment. 🩵 010 0

Richard Bedwell @richardbedwell.bsky.social · 19/04/2026I once saved a moth in my kitchen that had landed on wet washing up. Spent half an hour drying it off. Released it back to the wild. It flew out the door, round to the kitchen window, straight into a spider's web in the corner and promptly eaten by the resident spider. You just can't help sometimes. 000 0

exhaustedradical.bsky.social @exhaustedradical.bsky.social · 19/04/2026Surfers and beachcombers at one of our local beaches all carry wire cutters so that they can free marine life tangled in fishing line and plastics. Darth Kater🇨🇦 @darthkater.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Beautiful💗 Every time I hear the call of a loon, I think of my paternal grandmother (who loved them), my dad (whose cremains were interred in a lake frequented by loons), and my friend, the late David Milgaard, who the 🇨🇦Tragically Hip wrote their iconic song, "Wheat Kings" about.youtu.beThe Tragically Hip - Wheat Kings (David Milgaard Tribute)YouTube video by Curtis Sanderson 130 0
