I never followed up with the results of all this. My plan was to build a flower press for my wife for Christmas and wood burn a Dahlia into the top.
-I had never wood burned before
-I hadn't tried to draw anything with actual applied skill in at least 20 years

I am VERY bad at drawing. But I have been practicing to make something for my wife. Sorry to ask here but web search is miserable.
I can't for the life of me do these lines inside the petals. Reference on the left, my attempt on the right. Is there a specific technique to this?
