Acknowledging that one of these nations is a refuge for a persecuted minority group, and the other one is hoping to eradicate that refuge to continue the persecution, would spoil everything. Especially because they mistakenly believe most Israelis are fair-skinned Europeans.

One of those groups is a currently persecuted minority group, and the other is practicing apartheid and ethnic cleansing.

The Arab ethnicity is the dominant ethnicity in the region, the Jewish people are still the minority group, and a tiny country surrounded by much more powerful neighbors. They still need a refuge, clearly.
