I met a guy a few months ago who owns a small consultancy specializing in IT emergencies. When things go horribly wrong & nobody on staff can fix it, he’s who you call. In the past year, he essentially has a bidding war for his services every week. This👇is effectively what he does now.

I’m considering a different usage. Helping people with amazing engineering skills and poor communication skills use AI to improve the latter. There is all this focus on code but little focus on using AI to, say, run scenarios about how to respond to a coworker always interrupting you in meetings.

When you code with Claude in powershell, you can check constantly for risk assessment of individual tasks. I'm guessing plenty of people don't/plod ahead even with medium- or high-risk tasks.

I know someone who works one day a week doing this. That gets him to the higher rate tax threshold and he reckons he'd rather have the time than the extra money. In the distant past I did some ghost writing and I imagine it's similarly tedious work, but with much better pay.
