I do about 6 full edits of each book (around 190K words each, reading the entire thing again and going line by line). Then it goes to the editor, and then I read the entire thing again working through his notes. Then it goes to the proofreader, and I sit again for one final pass.

So that now makes Lena McDonald, KC Crowne and Rania Faris leaving ChatGPT prompts in their ‘books’. I’m so fucking tired, guys. If you don’t write, you’re not a writer. It’s that simple. Stop doing this to your readers, who PAY. Readers and authors deserve better than this. 📚💙

I really think authors need to meet and design an Non-AI/Non-ChatGpT label for their books. Just like the Non-GMO labels on foods. Make it easier for readers to know who is actually writing the books we buy.

I've been grinding myself through passes of my next book for about 4 years now. Almost finished the final edit and proof, but reading stuff like this genuinely makes me wonder what the point is. How quickly did we as a species give up on writing as an art form? It didn't even take much.

It shows. I thought I caught a grammatical error on verb plurality in Masks of Miscam, but nope, it was, in fact grammatically correct. Just you wait until I learn Miscamish. Slop production has increased, but the cream of the crop is as sweet as ever. Thank you for not giving into this nonsense.

Furtannia had three full passes with an editor before release and the only typo I could find was the incorrect year on one page. This would be like if a publisher accidentally submitted a manuscript with editor comments.

As someone who has slaved over for MONTHS reading, editing, and rereading again and again and again, seeing people use ChatGPT annoys the hell out of me.
