"Inclusive orthodoxy" feels like a dog whistle. I don't mean to be suspicious of the phrase, but I feel the same way about some American piskies identifying not as simply "Episcopalian," but specifically "Anglican." I would love to learn more from those who use the term about what it means to you. ⚓

I make sure to use the term Anglican as well as Episcopalian for several reasons including historical and ecclesiological accuracy. For one, I don't think it’s wise (let alone accurate) to allow the term Anglican to be co-opted to refer only to groups that have left The Episcioal Church when none of

Those groups are Anglican in the fullest sense of the word, not being part of the Anglican Communion. I think that affiliation is important in part because it helps serve as a ballast against becoming an eccentric American liberal protestant boutique Church that doesn't pay attention to history or
