I agree. I don't think AI itself is evil, but how it's used and the artists wishes and intent being respected. Same with james earl jones agreeing to let his voice live on through AI in franchise. If the artists gives the ok to see their legacy and dreams live on. Then I think it's great.

the real problem is when suits use it to snuff out actors or musicians or artists to increase bottom line without any regard. Producing content that does not respect artists wishes.

I don't think it's that cut and dried. As @coil.bsky.social is fond of saying "AI is a plagiarism machine." Just because Kilmer consents doesn't mean all the other training data that was harvested consents. Plus there are still market and environmental impacts you HAVE to consider. It's not simple.
