Bugdozer @timeforma.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I’m not understanding the derisive reactions on this. It seems to me like they’re all caught in an arms race dynamic where they’re training/testing these models way faster than their ability to monitor what’s going on because they fear falling behind if they slow down unilaterally 300
Lora Kolodny @lorak.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Well, the "derisive" reactions are likely because critics see these companies as asking to mostly self-regulate or create their own rules, and to be audited but not have (existing) laws enforced or new laws made that could lose them money. 120
lutter.bsky.social @lutter.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I am also very critical of them because none of what they say about their economics adds up. And if things go well for them there is huge danger of even bigger power concentration; if things don’t go well, we’ll all be holding the bag. I am more concerned about those things than AI killing us all 000
Bugdozer @timeforma.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Like I’m not a fan of these companies at all and you absolutely do not have to hand it to Dario Amodei but also this seems like a good idea 100
